At the main Toyosu market building with the tuna auction there are about 12 restaurants on your way to the tuna auction observation deck. I took a look and decided I was in the mood for tempura and grabbed myself a seat. At around 8:00AM, I was the only customer. All the restaurants seemed empty around this time. I got the 天丼 and it was delicious. Every piece was fried to perfection. Seafood wise I could make out the shrimp, cuttlefish and maybe something else. Most of the rest were veggies. I didn’t mind. It was served with green tea, miso soup and tsukemono of pickled cucumbers. I wouldn’t make a trip out here just for the tempura but if you are in the mood for tempura after the auction, this place is solid. The older gentleman was very courteous and inviting. The restaurants here are way better than the Toyosu market stands across the street that looks like a makeshift village. I tried some of their offerings and they were meh.
