I go to Aka after my Ji-jutsu training at Rilion Gracie and it's the perfect combo! The atmosphere is amazing, the food even more so, and the service is top notch! This was only my second week going and they remembered me, asked how ji-jutsu was going and even answered all my questions about the menu with enthusiasm! Also since Aka means Red, as an Aries quad-fecta (4 stars in my star chart are in Aries ) I just love the name, it's design and the shade of Red they chose! Highly recommend! Parking: The parking lot is kind of small since it's shared with a few other restaurants but it's never been completely full so I always had an easy time parking. I recently had the most disappointing experience at this restaurant, making it, without a doubt, the worst I have ever visited. I ordered octopus bites, and to my surprise, the menu did not mention that they would be soaked in mayo—a condiment I do not enjoy. I politely stood up and requested that the chef preparing my rolls refrain from using mayo in any of my dishes. To my shock, the chef responded with hostility, throwing all the food he was preparing with visible anger, as if I had personally insulted him. He then proceeded to shout at me in Japanese, which was completely uncalled for. I calmly responded that I no longer wanted my food prepared with such a negative attitude and asked them to cancel the order. Customer service is clearly not a priority at this establishment. If they cannot handle simple requests politely, they are in the wrong business. I didn’t even get the chance to try the food because the service was so appalling. In all the years I’ve lived in the United States, this is the first time I have been treated so poorly, especially as a paying customer at a restaurant.
