I ordered the Spider Roll with soft shell crab, but the shell was completely inedible. I’ve ordered this roll from here before, so I know how it’s supposed to taste and feel, and this was definitely not right. When I called the restaurant to let them know, the manager was not helpful at all. Instead of listening, he started explaining to me the difference between crabs and insisting that the hard shell was normal. It wasn’t. At first, I honestly thought it was fish with sharp shell pieces because the texture was so unpleasant. Very disappointing experience, especially because I’ve enjoyed this roll here in the past. Akiko is a great spot with a semi-authentic vibe, great service, and a really nice ambiance. Perfect for a dinner alone, with friends, or on a date. Portions are just right—not too much, not too little. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: $20–30
