Had a fantastic dinner at Akiko. The food was excellent across the board — everything we ordered was beautifully presented and tasted great. We had the sashimi platter, spicy edamame, vegetable tempura, mixed green salad, beef fillet teriyaki, aburi beef, ebi no shioyaki and rice. The sashimi in particular was fresh and very well presented, and the spicy edamame and tempura were excellent. The ambience is also beautiful, with a very stylish Japanese setting and a fantastic maple-leaf ceiling that really adds to the experience. The only area that could be improved is the service attentiveness. The staff were polite, but we had to call them several times and seek their attention whenever we needed something. A little more proactive service would have made an already excellent evening practically perfect. Overall, excellent food, beautiful ambience and a very enjoyable experience.
