The “Al Battibecco” restaurant is a well-known place in Perugia. The food is of good quality, you eat well, the service is attentive and fast, the space is almost exaggeratedly large, it has a large green park equipped for relaxing or letting children play, etc. This place, therefore, is very popular with both local people and people passing through (for example Representatives, etc.) who stop to eat to rest or for business contacts between colleagues or customers, knowing full well that they will get up from table with the feeling of having felt good and having eaten "healthy"; so they will be able to peacefully resume their journey or work without suffering the effects of indigestible food which causes drowsiness and a sense of heaviness. We, at least, in almost 30 years of sometimes sporadic and sometimes assiduous attendance at the "Battibecco", have never left the table with unpleasant sensations as can happen elsewhere. All this guarantees that the "Al Battibecco" restaurant is not one of the numerous places "decorated" to capture tourists and saddle them with everything, but is a place that responds to its own clientele, mostly acquired over many years. Among the menus, we really like the grilled chicken steak; but be careful to ask for the chicken "steak" and not the chicken steak... The grilled chicken is also special; but the steak makes you discover and savor a new and special taste of the boned, crushed and artfully marinated chicken leg. At this point, I cannot help but positively point out some of the staff who in my opinion contribute to the success of the "Battibecco" because they convey the feeling of being welcomed as if they were the owners and the customer was an important person to be respected . Unfortunately we don't remember everyone's names, but the very nice, always cheerful and historic Caterina and Lina stand out as they move quickly and carefully for everything, very ready to remedy any problem that arises with kindness and pure cordiality, from finding the place to table onwards..., attentive to customers and always ready to go the extra mile. It is therefore worth highlighting the reliable, professional and thoughtful behavior of Andrea, Room Manager and an old-fashioned and serious person!!! I also want to point out Samantha whose characteristic is a beautiful smile and I would like to point out that Samantha, like Caterine Lina, moves in ways that are unique only to those who care about a public establishment as if it were their own. The fact is that my wife and I were convinced that Samantha was the owner of "Battibecco" or one of the relatives, especially when she is in the cash register and gives splendid smiles to everyone. Arben and Virginia also come to mind, but I won't say anything else about them because we didn't spend much time with them and not because they are less valid than those I mentioned before. At the grill there is the great Davide, expert and kind, who knows how to advise well and who also behaves as if he were the owner... In short, is it worth going to “Battibecco”? The answer is yes!". Alternatively, being on the opposite side of Perugia, another reliable place where you feel good and eat well is "L'Orselli in Borgo Fé" of which I also wrote a review. Then there are other good places; but if you are passing through and want to be on the safe side, we recommend these two, one north and the other south of Perugia. Between the two, however, the "Squabble" is the only one possible if there are a lot of people and especially if it is late; "Il Battibecco", in fact, is a huge venue, with multiple rooms and equipped open spaces and is (almost) always able to accommodate, even at inconvenient times when other venues have closed.
