I came here for the Ifthar Buffet with one of my friend. There were'nt many varieties to choose from but overall the food was OK. The Beef Lasagne was the best and I also liked the Mini Beef Steak with Mushroom Sauce and the Pan Fried Hamour. The Lamb Mackboos and the Chicken Couscous was not good. There were good varieties of salads. For breaking the fast, there were dates, fruits, cheese samosas which was very tasty and kebbah too was good enough. There was Umm Ali, chocolate cake and few other sweets for dessert but as I was full, I could only try the Chocolate Cake which was not bad. For drinks, they had only Water, Vimto and one more drink which was very sweet. The service and Ambience was excellent. The Cleanliness also was very good.

OVERALL
Food - OK
Service - Excellent
Ambience - Excellent
Cleanliness - Very Good

It was not worth for 130 QAR.

When Timothy Carr and I were invited on a Friday brunch Foodie meet up courtesy of Zomato at Al Dirwandi restaurant located at Aparthotel Adagio Premium Hotel. We were both excited and at the same time curious about the restaurant as the name doesn't ring a bell. So we had to do our quick review just to be aware of the food they are serving. There were fellow bloggers like Creativitywithkay and Followmycravings there as well. We were the first people to try their brunch buffet on a Friday. I was the first one to arrive as I had something for Timothy's birthday surprise. Upon arriving I noticed that they were all prepared for the meet up from the table settings, food and the staff.

After everyone had been introduced to one another and were all settled in, we dug in. I first went to the main entree section since I don't many vegetables. The main dishes on my plate were: Grilled Seafood with Harra sauce, Rice, Steak with Mashed Potato and Gravy. The Chicken Vermicelli Soup was great, noodles were not overcooked and the soup was flavorful. Next thing I tried was the Caesar salad and cheese sticks. The seafood was delicious with tender meat and tasty sauce. The steak with mashed potatoes and gravy was a perfect combination. Though I had hard time slicing and chewing the meat. I was bit frustrated that as soon as the food touched my mouth it felt cold and not too fresh. Like it was prepared overnight though they were on the food warmers.

I made my salad the way I wanted. The first bite was a bit tangy but I got used to the taste gradually. The cheese sticks were a little too salty for me and wrapper wasn't that crunchy so I only had one. I skipped the other menu and jumped straight to my favorite! The desserts! I love the fruity tarts. Especially the mango! I sprinkled them with crushed pistachios and a spoonful of honey. I even asked Timothy to get me some more of the tarts when he went to get his desserts! When we all finished with our lunch I asked the staff to serve Timothy's birthday cake which I bought from Baskin Robbins. Everyone enjoyed a heavenly slice of cake after singing the birthday song.

The place was calm and cool. I love the idea of having an outdoor terrace as you can be mesmerized by the beautiful view while indulging in your meal. Since we were the first group to arrive most of our needs were met. But as soon as the place was fully packed, they started missing our orders and the service began to slow down and we barely saw the staff again. They sometimes overlooked our table and some were left unattended for a couple of minutes.

Trying out new delicacies has never been as fun and intriguing as this. It was a truly great experience having brunch with fellow foodies and bloggers. This was the longest meet up so far which Timothy and I enjoyed. It is nice sharing stories with people. The road to trying out new cuisines continues. Until next food tasting! Thanks zomato and Ms. Hala
