Ristorante L' Olivo at Al Mahara - honest review.First time at Burj Al Arab and L' Olivo. Lived in Dubai for 6 years and have tried most of the fine dining options around town.Staff was friendly and helpful. The setting is cool with the big aquarium and walking in you feel excited. The lighting in the restaurant however is off with big lights right above you, so the coziness factor is not there. Calm and classic Italian music is playing at a low volume.Now, the food. It was a big disappointment. The menu was limited. It is a seafood restaurant but I was hoping for more. Tomato cream soup with ricotta as a starter was okay, nothing special.The Blue crab ravioli was a disaster. White foam covering the dish, the foam had the taste and consistency of soap foam. The dish was out of balance as the lemon was too overpowering. No component in that dish had a nice taste or "Mmmmm" factor to it. I was hungry but could not finish my main course.McDonalds would have been a tastier option and for us 4 guests around 3,500 AED cheaper.
