Had another great experience here. The service is always excellent and the food is consistently good. The service is quick, and there’s a really nice atmosphere, especially when sitting outside. The waiters are very respectful and attentive, and they’re always happy to answer any questions you may have. They can get quite busy, so if you’re coming with a group of people, I’d definitely recommend booking in advance. And while you’re here, definitely try the ice cream shop outside, their waffles with Nutella are absolutely worth trying! Great food, great service and a lovely atmosphere. Definitely recommend! As a family, we have been visiting Albar for lunches and evening meals, both in and out of peak season, for the past 7 or 8 years. However, during our recent visits last week, we noticed a clear drop in service quality, which was very disappointing. We sat outside as we usually do to enjoy the atmosphere. On our first visit, we waited about 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged us to take our order. The food, as always, tasted great once it arrived. Unfortunately, our subsequent visits were even worse. On our second visit, after waiting for a considerable time, we asked a staff member if we could order. We were told he only delivers food and that he would send someone else over to take our order. No one ever came, so we left. We returned on another day to give them the benefit of the doubt, but after sitting there for roughly 20 minutes without any service or eye contact, we walked out again. It felt as though the staff were far more interested in chatting with the team in the ice cream shop across the laneway than looking after customers. It’s such a pity, as this used to be a favorite spot of ours, but the current service makes it very hard to justify going back. As a Portuguese myself I loved the food here. Its typical Portuguese (if you choose those things on the menu, saw a comment who said ir had nothing to do with portuguese food and ordered avocado with shrimp... duuh!) Good prices and good service. I came here for like 4 times in a row Loved the bitoque Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
