Sunday 07/24/22 I book a table for 5 people at 8.30pm. My partner and I arrive slightly early, so we are accompanied to the table and placed on the terrace. As we sit down we ask if there was a table inside, as it was really hot outside, but they tell us that the tables inside are all booked. I therefore point out that we are also booked, they reply that we should have booked specifying that we wanted to stay inside. To the last kind request from my partner if there really wasn't an inside table, the waiter, evidently annoyed, replied in the exact words, "if you have any complaints, go and ask them at the cash desk", my response then was that the we would have done it after dinner. In the meantime, a table for 14 people is moved from outside to inside and the waiter goes to call the lady at the cash desk, who, once she arrives, reiterates what was said before, that is, that we should have specified where we wanted the table. I point out that, as many other places do, it would have been the responsibility of the place itself, during the booking phase, to inform us that the only places available were in a non-air-conditioned outdoor area and that we would therefore have decided what to do once our friends arrived. My partner and I start talking about what would be best to do, also hearing on the phone who we were waiting for, when the same waiter intervenes and begins: "ma'am, if you don't like it, you can also get up and leave" (I can imagine the tone) . I don't even let him finish the sentence before I get up "love, let's go, I'm broke!" And here something happens that, as the son of restaurateurs, I have NEVER seen happen in ANY place where I have eaten or worked. He starts yelling at me: "WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU TO DO THIS, WHO THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU ARE", I reply in kind about who the FUCK he thought he was. This one comes in my face screaming at me again. So I push him and he slaps me. All this in front of my partner and the lady at the register who intervenes and pushes him away. I can assure you that in no establishment does an owner allow such an attitude on the part of an employee without firing him, and I have also had to deal with rude and drunk customers. I take responsibility for what I'm about to say. I know perfectly well what certain elements are used to carry out the service, and he, as I already told the lady at the register, was in full swing. Before Covid I came to eat for lunch, and we were served by a completely drunk waiter who got half the orders wrong. I can't say if it was the same, but if this is the standard to which a historic restaurant like Gli Alberoni has lowered itself, it is certain that I will never see my money again. In the end we had dinner in the restaurant opposite. Excellent pan pizza, 5 stars, recommended Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3
