We decided to try Ale Asylum for an early dinner Friday night while friends were in town. The space is great. Two stories - indoor and outdoor spaces on both floors. Both regular tables and high-tops. Modern, clean, good place to hang out and relax with friends. Ale Asylum has a number of beers they brew themselves. We tried the Off Switch, Dumb & Dunkel, Hopalicious, High Coup, and Velveteen Habit. Dumb and Dunkel was my favorite, the others contained more hops than I prefer. In addition to beers they also offer a full bar.

For dinner, all four of us had the fish-fry. I thought both the walleye and perch options were excellent. Our friends enjoyed the cod. The fish-fry is served w/a mayo based coleslaw, two mini naan breads, two tartar sauces - one of which is mildly spicy, and a choice of side. I had the french fries which had a crunchy, flavorful, batter coating.

Service was prompt and competent. Although it's a little out of the way for us, I wouldn't hesitate to go back.
