The food was good. The cocktails were not. I had an issue with my cocktail, but fortunately they resolved it, which I appreciated.

The restaurant space and decor is beautiful. Food was great, we went on a Sunday for lunch and was relatively quiet, we tried the Cozido à Portuguesa and the Entrecôte, both delicious. Service was okay, the staff was attentive but not up to the standard of a fine dining restaurant. They have a decent wine cart, but it's a shame they only have one option for wine in glass. Alquimia is a new concept with aim to serve a fine dining experience. We left the place with mixed feelings: - Service: nothing wrong with the attentiveness of the waiters (don’t worry there are plenty of them :-)) yet they don’t showcase working in a fine dining establishment. For instance, when ordering a red wine, the glass was poured without asking to try first. - Couvert bread was dry with very tiny bits of butter / dip. Underwhelming - the starters we ordered were the highlight (a tuna tartar and gambas). Light, good portion and excellent flavoring - main course was a mixed bag. The chataeubriand was not high quality. at a price of 50.000kz you expect top class meat. We had to send it back to redo because it was simply too chewy. The bacalhau was fine, nothing extraordinary - dessert took standard Luanda options: petit gateau and rabanadas. All ok, again no wow factor The seating area (partly inside and partly outside) is nicely done with lots of windows make it feel spacious. Meal type: Dinner Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3
