Alta Trattoria specialises in food and wine from the north west of Italy, Piedmonte region. It was an eye opening experience for me as it wasn’t the usual Italian food. We started off with some entrees. They were all impeccable. My favourite gotta be the Vitello Tonnato and Flan di Ricotta. The thinly sliced veal was served with a gorgeous creamy tuna sauce with some fried capers to balance out. The ricotta was pan fried yet you still get the soft creaminess from it. I felt like I was eating a real flan! Both dishes went perfectly with the focaccia! Remember to save your bread for these dishes! For the mains, we ordered all four pastas. The pastas were all al dente. I personally loved the earthy mushroom flavour of the ravioli!. Flavour wise, I’d say they were all interesting! Like the gnocchi was quite nutty. The wine list was comprehensive, highly recommend coming here for a drink! Overall it’s a lovely Italian restaurant. If you want to try something different, this will be a good choice!
