The menu is simple, but if you are not a fish person, the choice is too limited... The food is good, nothing more... No surprises on the palate... The terrace is a nice surprise, but god the staff is stressed and stuck! Too few positive points for a disappointing overall result! My friend and I went here because locals like it so much. It's a bit out of the way but the trek was worthwhile. We were seated on an enclosed patio on a small canal. Trattoria Altanella has a classy yet leisurely vibe. I had gnocci with tomato sauce. It was the best tomato sauce I'd had since I'd left southern Italy. There is also caprese for vegetarians. I'd certainly return... and hope to do so.
