All the guests like great German and Mediterranean cuisines at this restaurant. To taste perfectly cooked steaks, pasta and risotto is a really good idea. Good coffee is waiting for you at Altes Torhaus.
The friendly staff welcomes visitors all year round. Service at this place is something one can call terrific. It's a nice place with the calm ambiance. This spot scored 4.5 in the Google rating system.

Incredible dinner. A neighborhood spot that really shouldn't be missed if you are in the area. Here for the Spa-Francorchamps F1 race with my dad and brother and wanted to have a nice dinner. Speaking no German, the waitress helped out. She was extremely friendly and patient and helped translate the menu items for us. We had homemade pasta with shrimp in a lightly spicy sauce, a steak with a rich/sweet mushroom gravy-like sauce and bean soup (split pea?) and salad. Dessert of chocolate soufflé and lemon ice cream was incredible. A digestif and some Belgium chocolates later and dinner was sadly over. More than the food, the location is not to be missed. Literally an old gate house, the building had been converted to a restaurant with an inside/outside feel, brick floors from the original street with small bits of light shining through, wood flooring further inside and an incredible back patio. It was hard to find good info on places to eat in Aachen for non-German speaking tourists like myself, so if you're reading this just go. Mostly locals there, so a real family feel. We were the last ones there and they were in no hurry for us to leave. They have a menu on their website (in German) and taxi service so you don't have to walk back to the city center. If you're in Aachen get a little off the touristy beaten path and don't miss it.

Wir haben aufgrund anderer Empfehlungen dieses sehr nette Restaurant ausgewählt, um mal wieder einen schönen Abend zu genießen. Das Restaurant ist originell aufgemacht und hat eine schöne Atmosphäre. Wir entschieden uns für eine kleine Vorspeise (Gnocchi mit frischen Tomaten) und ein Hauptgericht (Maispoularde auf Mangold und Kartoffelstampf), was beides wirklich sehr lecker war und absolut zu empfehlen ist, das Ganze zu einem erfreulich preiswerten Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis. Leider mußten wir an diesem Freitagabend außergewöhnlich lange auf unser Essen warten: wir waren um 19 Uhr vor Ort und tatsächlich um 21.30 Uhr erst mit unserem Essen fertig. Man sagte uns, dass wohl noch irgendwo (und für uns nicht einsehbar) eine Gesellschaft bewirtet würde, was zu großen Verzögerungen führte. Auch fast alle anderen Gäste hatten über eine ziemlich lange Zeitstrecke kein Essen und fragten auch nach dem Stand ihrer Bestellung. Auch die Getränkebestellung brauchte eine relativ lange Zeit, bevor sie serviert wurde. Es scheint hier augenscheinlich zu wenig Personal eingesetzt zu werden, was letztlich dem Betreiber deutlich mehr Umsatz brächte, weil er mehr verkaufen könnte. Fazit: gerne würden wir dieses Lokal in unsere Stammliste aufnehmen, müssen aber erst nochmal testeten, ob die Abwicklung beim nächsten Mal besser gelingt, vom Essen her würde sich ein erneuter Besuch auf jeden Fall lohnen.
