I’ve been to Ama a couple of times and their recent menu has been my favorite! My stand outs for tonight were the Fior di Zucca (fried stuffed squash blossoms with ricotta and an immaculate pesto sauce) and their Parmigiana di Melanzane (eggplant lasagna-esque). We could not get enough of the eggplant! Then ended our night perfectly with the tiramisu which is the reason we come here since my friend is gluten-free! Will be back soon! Ama is a truly exceptional addition to Washington dining. What distinguishes it is the rare marriage of genuine indulgence with an extraordinarily thoughtful philosophy of wellness. Beautifully prepared, deeply satisfying food is grounded in whole, minimally processed ingredients, conscientious sourcing, sustainability, and the traditions of Slow Food—yet nothing about the experience feels restrictive or overly “health conscious.” Instead, Ama makes nourishment feel luxurious. The food, atmosphere, hospitality, and attention to detail create an experience that is both celebratory and restorative. I especially admire the restaurant’s broader commitment to environmental responsibility and human well-being. Ama proves that extraordinary dining and thoughtful eating can coexist beautifully. Sophisticated, delicious, purposeful—and an absolute pleasure. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Ama is a restaurant I come back to again and again, whether I’m grabbing coffee and a quick breakfast at the Bancone, sitting down for a nourishing lunch, or having dinner with friends. It’s rare to find a place that feels this welcoming and still has such an uncompromising commitment to the quality and sourcing of its ingredients. Chef Johanna and the entire Ama team bring so much care and enthusiasm to what they do, and you can taste it in the food. Such a special place! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
