A Hidden Greek Seaside Escape in the Heart of Bucharest – AMADA TAVERNA If someone had blindfolded me and dropped me into AMADA TAVERNA, I would have sworn I had just arrived at a family-run taverna in a small Greek fishing village. From the moment you step through the entrance, surrounded by lush greenery, you leave Bucharest behind. The atmosphere is magical – intimate, authentic, and full of charm. It feels like discovering a hidden gem that only locals know about, yet somehow it welcomes everyone as if you’ve been coming there for years. The seafood was simply exceptional. And I don’t say that lightly. I have eaten fresh fish and seafood in many places across Romania, and this was, without question, among the very best experiences I’ve had. Every dish tasted incredibly fresh, perfectly cooked, and prepared with genuine respect for the ingredients. The whole grilled fish was outstanding – tender, juicy, and full of flavour. The octopus was cooked to perfection, soft and delicious. The giant prawns were sweet, fresh, and expertly prepared. Even the simple grilled vegetables were bursting with flavour. You can tell that freshness is the foundation of everything they serve. The cocktails were equally impressive – beautifully balanced, refreshing, and the perfect complement to the seafood. What truly elevates AMADA TAVERNA, however, is the service. The staff are warm, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about what they do. They make you feel less like a customer and more like a guest in their home. One thing I noticed immediately was the clientele. Many tables were occupied by regular customers who clearly return again and again. At the same time, there were plenty of foreigners dining there as well – always a good sign when both locals and visitors choose the same place. In a city full of restaurants trying to impress, AMADA TAVERNA doesn’t need to try. It simply delivers authenticity, quality, and an unforgettable experience. If you love fresh seafood, don’t wait for an invitation. Just go. For a few hours, you’ll forget you’re in Bucharest and feel as though you’ve escaped to a beautiful corner of Greece. Without a doubt, AMADA TAVERNA is my favourite place to eat in Bucharest so far. Fresh fish. Outstanding food. Amazing cocktails. Wonderful people. A hidden paradise. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
