I recently had the pleasure of visiting Kyomu, a newly opened gem in Playa de las Américas, in the south of Tenerife. From the first moment, the restaurant promised to be a memorable experience, not only for its innovative menu, but also for its welcoming atmosphere and exceptional service. The establishment, of modest size, stands out for its exposed kitchen, extremely orderly and clean, which in itself is a spectacle. Despite a minor hiccup with our reservation, which required adding an additional diner, the staff handled the situation with kindness and efficiency, something that is definitely appreciated in a restaurant with high demand. The atmosphere at Kyomu is cozy and well thought out, with areas dedicated to the preparation of sushi and other hot dishes, adding a special touch to the dining experience. Our gastronomic adventure began with an exceptional bluefin tuna tartare, served in an innovative way with very thin crusty bread, a delicious and highly recommended combination. The prawn katsu followed, perfectly prepared and packed with flavor, and a bluefin tuna loin sushi taco that reinvented my expectations of sushi, thanks to its unusual but successful combination of guacamole and chipotle. Although the Korean burger failed to impress me as much as other dishes, the char siu and Black Angus rib were simply sublime, with a tenderness and flavor that invited repeats. Without forgetting to mention the fried futomaki with panko, a star dish that, without a doubt, wins all the recommendations. In short, Kyomu exceeded my expectations with its innovative approach to food, impeccable service and welcoming atmosphere. Although I personally enjoyed the starters more than the mains, every bite was a delight. Complemented all with an excellent selection of wines, Kyomu is, without a doubt, a highly recommended experience for those looking for unique flavors and first-class service in Tenerife.
