I dined here with my family, and since we are all pasta lovers, we had high expectations! From the moment we entered, we were greeted by a very welcoming and smiling crew. Even though there were only three staff members and the restaurant was busy, they were attentive, professional, and knew exactly how to take care of their customers. We didn't realize a reservation was needed, but we were happy to wait because we really wanted to try their Signature Pasta. The Guy server who assisted us was friendly and did a great job suggesting and explaining the menu. I appreciated that they asked about food allergies—they were very knowledgeable about their ingredients. The Food: Creamy Pesto: 5 stars! The aroma was incredible and the taste was the best I’ve had. USDA Ribeye (Medium Rare): The combination of the juicy steak and mashed potatoes was heavenly. The texture and cook were perfect. 100% recommended! Surf & Turf: A great signature dish for sharing. The seafood paired perfectly with the steak; my parents loved it. Shrimp Aglio Olio: The crew informed me it was a little spicy, and for me, it was absolutely perfect. Signature Cheese Wheel Pasta: The highlight! The server was very entertaining and explained that the Parmigiano Reggiano is aged 27 months and imported from Italy. The presentation was flawless. Thank you, The American Backyard Digos, for the quality food and excellent service. My family and I are very happy and will definitely return after our vacation. Happy Mother’s Day to all! We dined here as a group of 2 adults, 2 kids, and 1 toddler. The place was nice, and we ordered the American Backyard Pizza, steak, ramen, and their signature/flaming burger. Before ordering, I specifically requested my steak to be medium rare and less seasoned, like dili lang salty or too strong ang timpla. However, the steak that was served came out spicy instead, which was completely different from what I requested. They informed us beforehand that the food would take around 1 hour to prepare, and honestly, that was completely okay with me since my son was craving ramen and we were willing to wait. However, the waiting time went beyond an hour, and the food still did not arrive together. The ramen was good, and the kids enjoyed the pizza. But because the steak was spicy, I politely raised the concern and they replaced it. Unfortunately, the replacement was worse. It was very bland, the meat did not seem properly thawed, and it was definitely not medium rare. I just asked them to make it well done nalang since the kids would eat it anyway, but the texture was gummy and disappointing. Their signature/flaming burger was also disappointing. The taste was different from what I expected, and the cheese was dry instead of creamy and melted. You could barely taste the cheese, and even the kids complained about it. What made the experience worse was when my friend’s son found a hair on the pizza after the kids had already eaten almost half of it. I immediately reported it at the counter. I also mentioned again that the steak was not prepared according to my request. The chef simply said it was their “standard,” but customer requests and preferences should still be properly considered, especially when concerns are raised politely. For the pizza issue, they told us they would “pull out” the pizza. I honestly thought they meant they would replace or remake it, especially since I was still willing to pay for it anyway. Later, they explained that for them, “pull out” meant removing it from the bill and no longer charging us for it. Yes, I understand that, but it was not explained clearly from the beginning. There were no proper questions, no clarification, and no effort to communicate the resolution properly. They should have asked first and explained the options clearly instead of leaving customers confused. Also, we were also given wet plates and drinking glasses with visible water marks. Staff presentation and communication also need improvement. Proper uniforms, shoes, and hairnets should be implemented for kitchen & dinning staff. One of the female servers looked untidy, with loosely tied hair that did not look appropriate for food service. "Murag nanglaba" ang pagtali sa hair ('em sorry for the words). The manager should also be more visible and attentive when there are customer concerns, just to check if customers are okay and if complaints are being handled properly. Unfortunately, overall, the complaints were not properly resolved. THERE WAS NO CUSTOMER RECOVERY AT ALL :(( This is purely about the food quality, sanitation, and customer service. For the price we paid, the experience was disappointing and not worth it. I hope they improve their food sanitation, communication, and overall service standards. Management should also review manpower, inventory, and kitchen operations during peak hours or busy days. Temporarily closing for over an hour to recover operations is not ideal for customer experience, and better preparation and coordination would greatly help improve service quality. Had an amazing experience at American Backyard Digos! The food was absolutely delicious, with generous servings and great flavors that really hit the spot. The ambiance was cozy and fun, perfect for hanging out with friends or family. Staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Definitely a must-visit when you’re in Digos! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
