The food here is good, but service is ABYSMAL. I came here 3 times during my stay and all 3 times, the service was poor. I followed a couple into the restaurant and they got sat right away. I waited around to get sat for 10 minutes, then finally went to the bar and sat there another 20 minutes. I made eye contact with several servers. Finally, one informed me that the bar was closed and sent me back to the hostess stand, where I was eventually sat. I’m not sure why, but every time I’ve been here, they push the buffet really hard. After I ordered, they would ask “are you sure you don’t want the buffet?” Yes, I’m sure. The food is quite good, but I gave them a few chances and they’re really not hospitable for a restaurant in a hotel. Food was good, just served cold. Everyone’s food came at a different time which was odd. There was one waitress working her tail off taking orders, taking bills and clearing tables. Literally saw 2 managers and 3 other workers standing around 90% of the time while this poor waitress struggled. Never got any drink refills or had anyone come to our table after the food was set down. I was very disappointed, for being in a Hyatt hotel, I would have thought there would have been more attention to customer service. I get it’s Chicago, but for the price I would have expected a lot more. I clearly saw more management being managers than leadership.. Went down for breakfast, an entirety different experience. While staying at the Hyatt Regency we decided to try American Craft Kitchen & Bar's breakfast buffet. They have a omelette station and a wide variety of breakfast fare. The service was 5 stars (our waiter was genuinely friendly and welcoming) and the food was higher quality than most hotel breakfast spots I've been to. Prices were $24.99 for adults on the Sunday morning - a little steep but not out of line with everything else downtown. Overall it was a good meal. Don't expect the food to knock your socks off, but the service is great and it is obviously convenient for those staying at the hotel.
