The rudeness of the staff is on an epic level. My adult daughter and I were seated and decided on sharing a pizza. My daughter got up to use the restroom and the waiter came to take my order. I ordered the pizza to share and a sparkling water for my daughter. The waiter left abruptly so I thought maybe he couldn't understand me and was getting someone to translate (I did attempt to order in Italian and then English). As he came back out, I saw my daughter near the doorway of the restaurant, and there was a woman yelling at her! My daughter came back to the table and told me she wasn't allowed to use the restroom until we ordered. Then the waiter came back and said we can't share food and we each had to order a drink. At that point I'd had enough of the unpleasant atmosphere and we decided to leave. Little did I know that the unpleasant atmosphere was about to be kicked up a notch. Both the woman and the man started yelling at us that we can't just come in and sit down and not order anything and that this is a restaurant and not a park bench. I tried to reason with them and pointed out that I had indeed ordered food, but they kept yelling at us in front of everyone. I'm not fluent, but they hurled a few insults in Italian at us as well. For those reviewers who can't understand where the bad reviews came from, count your blessings you weren't treated like trash. The name of this place means "friends" in Spanish and Portuguese, but with friends like this, who needs enemies. There are so many other places to go that are MUCH better than this dump. We sat in the front row of tables with a direct view to Corso Umberto. First class people watching! Our waiter was polite and very attentive. The owner said hello and joked around with us for a while. It gets better. The prices were the lowest we found in Taormina! We will definitely return to Amigos. Price per person: €20–30 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The worst restaurant I have ever been to in my life. Very rude pushy waiters. We wanted to have a drink and look at the menu in order to choose something, like in any normal restaurant you would do. The waiter wanted to force us to order cocktails and "no soft drinks" he said. Can you imagine? a dictatorship at a restaurant table. When I asked for the menu another man decided to come over to our table and repeated "cocktails, not soft drinks!" demand and when I said let me look at the menu, he took the menus off our hands and said "you leave now". So if you enjoy being told what you must drink or eat at a restaurant this is the place for you. Avoid otherwise. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
