Dreadful meal at the Angel Mawdlam today. Sea bass was well cooked but the Broad beans were so hard they were impossible to eat. The mini potatoes were so over cooked they had gone brown in the middle. My partner ordered the chicken Ballantine on mushroom risotto. It arrived cold and gluey. Had to be sent back to be warmed up while I was eating mine alone. When it came back it was sticky and flavourless.Very disappointed and told the serving staff. Meal cost £53.20 and wasn’t even offered a discount as a gesture of good will. Will not be returning.
I searched Google for the telephone number for the restaurant. Called for about an hour ,each time the call was ended. I then drove to the restaurant with the intention of booking a table for this evening . When there , I mentioned the problem I had getting through on the phone. The waitress called a man who I assume was the manager. I explained the position to him to be told, there isn't a problem with our phone. What number are you calling. I explained I was calling the number on Google. He said, thats not the number and was totally arrogant . As I tried explaining he may well be losing business if people are unable to get through. This met with total distain. He really could give a fig........business is tough and there are plenty of other restaurants willing to take my money....its along winter. If he's like that when trying yo book a table. What would
