Disgusting service. Talked behind customers back to tell other staff that we don’t understand and we were stupid. Little that they knew we understood Italian. Then server continues to yell and deny his words. This is not an authentic ice cream shop. A rating of 1.7 is too high. Ice cream is not good quality and the service is horrible. This place is a tourist trap!!! Avoid at all costs!!!! Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Robbery! Ordered gelato. No prices listed but a small is 3,50-4€ everywhere else. 8€ for a small! Spoke perfect English when I was ordering. Passed me off to a cashier who tried to short change me by 10€!! Then spoke no English when I asked for correct change. Cashier was angry, rude and tried to dismiss me. Other customers started noticing the scene I was making and all the sudden he spoke English again. Gave me correct change eventually but by then my 8€ gelato was melting all over my hands. This place is not to be trusted. Meal type: Other Price per person: €1–10 Service: 1

I am writing to express my utter dissatisfaction with my experience at Caffetteria Antica Roma. Despite its prime location near the Spanish Steps, this establishment fails miserably in delivering even basic standards of service and integrity. The prices charged were exorbitant, completely out of line with the quality of the food and beverages offered. Worse still, the menu lacked transparency, with hidden fees that inflated our bill beyond belief. It’s shocking that such a place continues to operate in one of the most famous tourist areas in Rome, preying on unsuspecting visitors. This experience has left a bitter taste, and I strongly advise others to avoid this so-called "café." Rome has so much to offer—there’s no need to waste your time or money at Caffetteria Antica Roma.
