Carbonara al tartufo nero is just amazing

We had dinner on valentine’s day. Really excited for the restaurant and we’re greeted really nicely. The atmosphere was nice overall. However service felt rushed. We were rushed into making decisions about the menu which led to eating dishes we didn’t even really want to eat. All the dishes were alright but for our taste nothing special. Seasoning just wasn’t special and it tasted more like a good home cooked meal instead of fine dining.
We arrived around 9 pm on December 30, 2018 to Arco Antico without a reservation. We were seated within a few minutes and given a lovely table for two. The waiter suggested an excellent red wine and the chef sent two delicious petit appetizers while we waited for our first course. The fish and pasta we ordered as our main dish were cooked perfectly and of course the portions were small as expected for gourmet food. This restaurant is really a gem and a great choice for a romantic dinner. I’ll definitely dine here again on my next visit to Roma!!! Oh and you might end up dining next to a celebrity or politician as we did!!!
