A very pleasant experience in Nagoya with delicious food, a nicely decorated restaurant and an owner who deserves all the world’s love and respect. We had several of the vegetarian menu items and they were a blast. Beautifully presented, carefully prepared and very delicious. The owner and his wife mastered Mapo Tofu like no one else. I also liked the interior and the music of the shop. After we finished the meal we talked a little to the owner who spoke great English and has a passion for good Chinese food. He was very kind and even ran after us as my wife forgot her gloves. Can’t stress this place more. A wonderful restaurant. Price per person: ¥1,000–2,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

vegan friendly/ cash only Very traditional Chinese hole in wall restaurant with vintage decor. Has bar tables as well as regular. Vegan menu is a little expensive. I paid over ¥3000 for a meal, a side and a drink. Portion sizes are okay. Flavours are very traditional and fulfilling. Run by a cute old Chinese couple. A Hidden Gem for Vegetarians in Nagoya! As a vegetarian traveller, I was thrilled to discover Anzu in Nagoya, Japan. This restaurant exceeded my expectations in every way, and I was fortunate enough to visit twice during my stay. The service at Anzu was top-notch, thanks to Hiro's warm and welcoming hospitality. The food at Anzu was outstanding, and I was impressed by the variety of options available for vegetarians. On my first visit, I had the set vegan lunch, and was so impressed that I returned for dinner the following evening and ordered the vegetarian Mapo. The dish was spicy and savory, with a perfect balance of flavors. The clean plates on both visits speak to the quality and deliciousness of the food! I'm already looking forward to returning next year and exploring more of the menu. If you're a vegetarian or vegan traveler, do yourself a favor and add Anzu to your must-visit list! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ¥3,000–4,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Fried Soy Meet Topped with Welshonionan, Vegan Ice-Cream, Vegan Spring Rolls, Tofu Salad Dietary restrictions: Great to be able to find plentiful Vegetarian/Vegan food!
