Great food, have been to the restaurant twice already and eaten at the bar downstairs another two times (same menu). Concept is unique in London, Southern US food with a twist and better than top places we've eaten in Georgia and the Carolinas. Recommend the pig tongue and head skewer, the sausage with blue cheese coleslaw, the half chicken with miso grits and gravy, and the crab omelette. Lots of other yummy things on the menu too. Cocktails are excellent, good wine and non alcoholic selection as well. Upstairs at the counter suits couples best, there's space for larger groups downstairs in the bar. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £50–60

An absolute gem of a neighbourhood restaurant and bar. Food and service were fantastic in addition to the vibe being laid back an enjoyable. Not to mention portion sizes were generous. All the flavours across the different dishes worked beautifully together- can’t wait to go back. Price per person: £60–70 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Bold flavours. Fearless cooking. No compromise. Dinner at Appalachia was one of those experiences that reminds you why independent restaurants matter. This is a kitchen that isn’t afraid of flavour. Every dish had character—from the beautifully balanced raw beef, to outstanding vegetables, perfectly cooked smoked pork chop and bold, confident seasoning (Asian influenced). Nothing felt predictable, yet everything made sense on the plate. One of the great pleasures is sitting at the counter, watching the brigade at work. Calm, focused and precise, with an energy that translates directly into the food. It is always a joy to see chefs who cook with conviction rather than restraint. Congratulations to the whole team, and especially to the chef and Harry, front of house & drinks manager, for creating a restaurant with its own identity and the confidence to stand by it. We’ll certainly be back. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
