Wonderful meal at Applebees. Austin was an excellent server- Gave us many options with a huge level of patience. Thank you for the all you can eat - really enjoyed the riblets and shrimp. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

It is always a great experience going into the brainerd Applebee’s. The food is always excellent and the service is top notch! Usually I am one to drink my beverages rather quickly and there is never a time where I don’t have something to drink with my meal or appetizers. Always a great date night location in the brainerd lakes area! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I normally don’t leave bad reviews, but after thinking about this situation for a day, I feel like I need to say something because it honestly bothered me that much. We came in on Mother’s Day with a very large group made up of multiple families. We waited about 40 minutes to be seated because reservations aren’t accepted. On a holiday like Mother’s Day, that’s somewhat expected, but I would strongly recommend taking reservations in the future because there were 20–30 people crowded at the entrance waiting. It would make things much smoother for both customers and staff. The drinks were great, and our server was friendly, but the food and service organization really missed the mark. One meal was $20 for mashed potatoes that had clearly sat under a heat lamp for too long — the outside was crunchy — and there wasn’t even a vegetable included. Even something simple like carrots or another side would make the plates look much more complete. The biggest issue, though, was how the food was delivered. Meals were brought out in a completely different order than they were taken, which caused plates to go to the wrong people. One family received a burger and had already put ketchup on the plate and started eating. Another family was then told THAT burger was actually theirs. When the mistake was pointed out, the server said, “Don’t worry, we can just exchange them,” and just handed a already touched and partially eaten plate to another mother on Mother’s Day. Just because a large group comes in together does not mean everyone knows each other or is comfortable sharing food. That should never have happened. By that point, this mother had already waited nearly two hours total between waiting to be seated and waiting for food, so she just ate it instead of making a bigger issue out of it. I understand holidays are stressful and busy for restaurants, but serving a plate that had already been eaten off of by a stranger was unacceptable. Staff need better training on food handling and table organization, especially during large holiday rushes. I genuinely hate leaving negative reviews, but this situation left me feeling sick about how casually it was handled. Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3
