Ristorante Apuleius is a hidden gem tucked away in the Aventine neighborhood of Rome. The restaurant is quite small, but the intimate atmosphere and elegant decor add to its charm. The waitstaff are professional and knowledgeable, and they make sure to provide an excellent dining experience.
The menu features inventive Italian dishes with fresh ingredients and amazing flavors. We started with the Stuffed Zucchini Blossoms and Fagottino di Pecorino de Fossa e Peregrine's, both of which were delicious. For our main courses, we had the A La Romana Beef Rolls, Lamb, Tagliolini con Tartufo, and a Hamburger with Purple "Chips". Each dish was cooked to perfection and the accompanying Vino Bianco all Mescita wine was a perfect pairing.
For dessert, we shared the Frolla con Ricotta and Lavender-Flavoured Creme Caramel, served with a shot of Grand Marnier. Both desserts were beautifully presented and tasted divine.
Overall, Ristorante Apuleius is a great spot for a romantic date night or a special occasion. The food is creative yet comforting, the service is top-notch, and the ambience is intimate and elegant. Highly recommended!

Overview. I reached out to Ristorante Apuleius to book a surprise engagement dinner for three on a Saturday in May. I wish I could give them 10 stars! From the initial contact to the end of the night, everything was absolute perfection. Unmatched Hospitality & Planning. The owner, Emiliano, responded quickly and was thrilled to help plan the surprise. They allowed me to drop by before official opening hours to set up decorations, giving us a beautiful corner table right next to a lovely bookcase for our "Engaged" banner. Traveling from abroad, I didn't have many supplies with me, but Prisca (a wonderful waitress) kindly lent me scissors and tools to get everything ready. Going Above & Beyond. While I was away at the proposal site, part of my banner accidentally fell down, and Prisca and Matteo (another amazing waiter) took it upon themselves to put it back up, even while busy preparing for dinner service! That level of care is so rare. Food & Service. Throughout the entire evening, the service was impeccable and the food was absolutely delicious. If you are celebrating a special occasion in Rome or just looking for an unforgettable meal, I cannot recommend Ristorante Apuleius enough! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
