I came as recommended by google review & I was not disappointed! The sashimi was heavenly! The slices were big and thick. Absolutely worth the price. If you want to eat your fill of fish dishes, this restaurant comes highly recommended. You can definitely eat until you're stuffed. The miso soup is also very tasty and comes in generous portions—highly recommended. Advance reservations are recommended. If planning a visit to Chigasaki, you must, MUST, make time for lunch or dinner at Asamaru!! The seafood is incredibly fresh; it is well priced for what you receive, and it is a truly dynamite lunch time experience. My wife and I ordered the sashimi lunch set—seven types of fresh fish and/or seafood—the simmered sea bream—a whole fish simmered in a sweet sauce—and the Otoro sushi—largest wedge of fatty tuna I’ve ever seen!! Everything was fabulous: the sashimi was fresh and flavorful; the sea bream was yummy and went perfectly with rice; and the fatty tuna was other worldly, so large, so fatty, so delicious!! Now, just be warned, the wait time is significant. My wife and I were shocked by the number of people waiting to get in and we were not seated for a good 90 minutes, but once you start eating, that lost time becomes a trivial inconvenience. However, the next time we visit we will make a reservation; please note, reservations can be made two months in advance, but they only take five reservations a day so plan accordingly.
