I attended an engagement party at the Astor Hotel in May and was really disappointed by how the venue handled a significant issue. During the event, the roof began leaking into the function room. Water was coming through light fittings and speakers, which felt unsafe, and part of the room, including the dance floor, became unusable. Despite this, the hosts did their best to continue the celebration and make the most of the evening. What was even more disappointing was what happened afterwards. The bride-to-be contacted the venue to raise her concerns following the event, but her email has been completely ignored. While unexpected issues can happen at any venue, failing to acknowledge or respond to a customer's concerns is unprofessional and unacceptable. It's a real shame, because the way a business responds when something goes wrong says a lot about its customer service.
