overall experience was OK despite food was delicious 1/ no qr/transfer, only cash - who brings cash nowadays 2/ ordering time- staff kept telling us, no add on later, so need to order there and then. 3/ waiting time - prepare to drain your phone battery coz not in the mood to talk and hungry 4/ poor ventilation- smoke from roti canai plus morning sun, u get the combo 5/ cutleries were oily 6/ roti canai-crispy, and soft. 7/ kari ikan jenahak- on the higher price, but not so thick, slurpable 8/ because of the waiting time, we took our time to eat and finished the fish and gravy would we go again? nope. once is enough, till they change how the do business, we might consider. Price per person: RM 20–40 Food: 5 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3

During a short visit to Malacca with my friend from the Kingdom of Morocco, who is very particular about Halal-certified food, we decided to "TRY" Awang Roti Canai before heading back to KL via the Ayer Keroh exit. Given my friend’s preference for strictly Halal certification, I explained that while not all Malay stalls have an official Halal certificate—due to the stringent and costly process. It is common for me to support local small and medium extreprises (SME) of Muslim-run businesses, which also adhere to Halal practices. The place has its highlights and drawbacks: Pros: - The roti had an excellent crunchiness that set it apart from other places—golden, crispy, and light, making it quite memorable. - The pricing is affordable, at RM 2.20 for Roti Telur. They also have options like fish head curry, which some might find appealing. Cons: - Personally, the curry served was quite salty, the roti is oily, which overshadowed the taste for me. I didn't do any remark at that time. - My Moroccan friend said it was good, and then he decided to try Roti Kosong. - Unfortunately, my friend’s experience was soured when we asked for a second order of roti. the request was denied, with the explanation that they were "finished." Husnuzon, I reasoned to him that the shop "MIGHT" wanted to close early for the Jumaah prayer (started around 1.00 pm), despite the current time is only being 10:35 a.m. I further explained that the stall should be closed at 11.00 am. - However, new customers arriving after us were still being served. When asked for clarification, the waiter’s response made my friend feel embarrassed, as if he was begging for food. The "rationing" system is quite shocking, left us quite uncomfortable, and left a poor impression, especially for a tourist keen to experience local food. In the end, he paid without asking more and decided to have sushi after Jummah prayers back in Selangor. I felt somewhat ashamed of the treatment; it was far from the slogan "Visit Melaka". I sincerely hope that the stall prospers in the future, but I left with the feeling that better service and more kindness could significantly improve the experience for visitors.
