I visited an izakaya in Tokyo for the first time in a long while. Although it was a gathering with close acquaintances, the prices were reasonable and the food was delicious, which made for a thoroughly enjoyable evening. The food was excellent, but the manager's service was particularly noteworthy. It suited the character of the establishment perfectly – neither overly formal nor overly familiar, but tailored to each guest. That level of service certainly left a lasting impression.
