TL;DR: A longtime family favorite with generous portions, reasonable prices, and consistently good Mexican food. The recent remodel unfortunately made the restaurant noticeably louder, but the food and familiar service still keep us coming back. ---. I’ve been to several Azteca locations over the years, but the Silverdale location has been a family favorite for 30+ years. It was a place my family took me when I was a child, and it’s still a favorite with my own family as an adult. One of the servers, Aura, has actually seen me grow up and eventually bring my own family in, simply because we’ve visited so many times over the years. We moved away during COVID, but recently returned to the area for a short visit, so naturally Azteca was on our list. It was especially nice getting to see Aura again after all that time. The food is consistently good, and the portions are very generous for the price. Every table gets complimentary chips with salsa and bean dip, which is always a nice start. My personal favorite meal is the molcajete, although the enchiladas are also consistently delicious, and I’ve always loved their Mexican rice, which generally comes with most meals. The Nachos Azteca with chicken is another family favorite. It’s technically an appetizer, but the portion is so large that it could easily serve as a meal in its own. The one downside this time was the remodel. Unfortunately, I don’t think the changes improved the restaurant. Something about the new seating arrangement seems to make sound travel throughout the dining room, so the restaurant was noticeably louder and it was harder to hear the people at our own table. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it did make the experience a little less comfortable than I remembered. Despite that, Azteca remains one of those restaurants that is part of our family history. The food is plentiful and reasonably priced, and the familiar service makes returning after years away feel a little like coming home. If you’re looking for a casual Mexican restaurant with generous portions and a menu that works well for families, I’d definitely recommend giving this location a try. What a change , went there 2 times in the past couple weeks and the food was amazing. They have really stepped up their game. Service was excellent. Atmosphere is still a little shabby but the food and service are top notch. I recently made a post regarding one of my favorite Mexican Restaurant in Silverdale - Azteca Mexican Restaurant. I went to Azteca again yesterday with my sister & BIL and we loved it! They definitely stepped it up since my last visit so I want to share an update. Great atmosphere, great menu, food and appetizer and of course, margarita.
