BC Sports Hall of Fame is worth visiting after wonderful meals at this cafe. Nicely cooked honey chicken, belly pork and chicken sandwiches have a nice taste. Do not go away without enjoying good doughnuts. It is good to try delicious coffee or great matcha.

Stayed about a week in Vancouver next to BAM BAM. My friends and I made it a staple for us to start our mornings there and made sure to get a late night snack too before closing because their items are that good. Stunning interior, delicious food, crazy creative selection of donuts and rolls, 10/10 music choices, and amazing atmosphere created by the sweetest staff who welcomed us so kindly every day. Huge thank you to all of them for their incredible service. And shoutout to Carl, Jimmy, and Yianni for the silliest conversations and Vancouver suggestions, and to Tim for blessing us up with the drinks (: Highly recommend their sandos (my fave was The Belly), their Iced Apple Pie Latte, and their side of Hot Honey Tendies. Will definitely be raving about BAM BAM all the way from Montreal Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Let me start by saying that BAM BAM absolutely nails the ambiance. The design is creative, thoughtful, and genuinely one of the cooler spaces I have stepped into in a while. The vibes are immaculate and whoever was responsible for the interior deserves full credit for that. If you are looking for a spot to take pictures or just soak in a really well designed space this place delivers on that front completely. Now for the food. Unfortunately that is where everything falls apart. The donuts were way too sweet and incredibly heavy. By the second bite I felt like I had already consumed a full meal worth of sugar. There was no balance and nothing to cut through the sweetness which made them really difficult to enjoy. The hot honey chicken burger was somehow even more disappointing. At $19 a pop you would expect something at least decent but what arrived at the table was a chicken burger that genuinely tasted worse than a McChicken from McDonald's. The chicken was poorly made, flavourless, and just did not come together in any meaningful way. For nearly $20 that is honestly a bit of a joke. The food did not come close to matching the energy of the space and that is a real shame because this place clearly has a lot of potential. If you want to pop in for the atmosphere go for it but do yourself a favour and eat somewhere else before or after. Meal type: Other Price per person: $20–30 Food: 1 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

came for the interestingly-flavoured donuts but absolutely astounded by the fried chicken sandwich??!! i’ve had my fair share of chicken sandwiches, but i haven’t had one with such a BEAUTIFULLY , DELICATELY fried piece of chicken — it was so crisp that it was basically soft and melting , and the meat itself was ridiculously juicy, tender, and savoury. the heavy, flavourful explosion of spiciness and sweetness from the hot honey was balanced by the creamy ranch and the strong tanginess of the pickled veggies. the bun was also really soft and pillow-y, and had a really nice sweetness to it. seriously a HIGH QUALITY chicken sandwich. the donuts are baked fresh everyday , so you don’t need to worry about a stale donut , and there are sweet & savoury flavours here you won’t find anywhere else , but they weren’t as life changing as the sandwich. the donut base itself was also pretty special — quite dense but also airy and pillowy, and not too sweet. my (tentative) ranking would probably be: 1. chocolate malt : maybe a bit simpler , but the chocolate was perfectly rich, decadent, and hazelnutty, and the CRUNCH of the chocolate topping was SO ADDICTING to me , it was like ferrero rocher kind of. 2. brown butter pecan: sugary pecan topping was nice, the brown butter glaze had a caramel-y taste. 3. pork belly: very interesting taste ?? quite a strong spice aroma that was reminiscent of bbq pork charsiu, with a bit of pork floss as well 4. strawberry shiso: the filling was very fruity and sweet , basically like a jam , and there was also some leaves inside that gave it a bit more of a minty , grassy taste which was interesting ! 5. miso caramel: also a solid yummy treat, with a simple salty caramel glaze 6. honey sea salt: not bad or anything, just a very mild honey taste so it wasn’t too special i also tried the apple pie cream soda , but i think it was way too sweet for me. but i did like the apple pie cream i think . quite cinnamon-y and quite tart. the service was also kind of insane — they were super friendly and vERY fast and very attentive .
