I stopped in for lunch on a whim. I ordered the Catfish and Shrimp combo. First and foremost.. REAL CATFISH !! The food didn't take long to arrive. The catfish was fried to perfection. The combo comes with pickled carrots, great; a whole jalapeño, nice and two slices of white bread. The shrimp, not good at all. I don't want to take away a star for just that, but be aware it's not fresh, battered shrimp. Definitely that breaded bulk frozen stuff The catfish is definitely worth going back fa sho. Husband and myself were seeking a good southern style catfish spot. Great fish, atmosphere, friendly, helpful and professional staff. The live DJ had a variety of music; from old school blues, new & old R&B, and hip hop! She definitely read the room well. We like that it gave a “black owned, southern hospitality, and comforting vibe”. Definitely will be going back and recommending it to others! They give you more than enough food, that most likely you’ll leave with a to go box! I had fish strips and my husband had 3 piece fish fillet. Great first experience! The best fried fish I’ve ever had—hands down. Perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside, and tender on the inside. Everything tasted fresh and made with care. The service was friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere made it even better. I can’t wait to come back and try more. Best Thing Flopping is definitely a new favorite!
