I’ve been a fan of Bing Chun’s vanilla ice cream cone since it first launched in Sri Lanka, so it’s great to see the brand expanding city by city. The product itself still delivers consistent taste at a good price, and the drinks are refreshing. However, the service experience really needs improvement. I recently visited an outlet for a simple takeaway order (3 ice creams + 1 drink). There were only a couple of orders ahead, so I expected a quick 5 to10 minute turnaround. Unfortunately, despite having multiple staff on duty, there didn’t seem to be any urgency, proper flow or coordination in handling orders. One team member was under the counter distracting and joking around, which also pulled attention away from others 5 team members. It felt like the focus wasn’t fully on customers or order efficiency. On top of that, communication among staff was quite loud and unprofessional, and the overall service lacked basic customer engagement, no greeting, no “thank you,” just a very transactional handover. While the product is still great, the experience is far from fast, convenient, or customer friendly. With proper focus on service standards, this brand could easily match its product quality with a much stronger customer experience.

I recently visited Bing Chun - Colombo 3 and unfortunately left quite disappointed. I ordered four classic bubble teas and politely requested them without ice due to allergy concerns related to very cold drinks. I was told this was not possible because of store policy. While I understand businesses may have standard preparation methods, the complete lack of flexibility or alternative solution was surprising. What concerned me more was observing how the drinks were prepared. Each cup was filled largely with ice, with only a small amount of tea and pearls added afterward. This results in a drink that feels heavily diluted and offers poor value for what is supposed to be a bubble tea experience. When I asked about this, the response was simply that staff follow instructions. While I respect employees adhering to guidelines, customers also expect reasonable accommodation and a product that reflects what is advertised. Overall, the experience felt impersonal and unsatisfactory. I hope the management considers reviewing both preparation practices and customer service approach, as the current experience does not encourage a return visit.

Went around 11pm but most of the toppings and chocolate ice-cream was finished, So make sure to visit this place early.
