Terrible experience at Babar, a place to avoid if you are looking for respect and professionalism. Seven people (two girls and five boys of foreign origin) went there around 6.30pm to spend a quiet evening. At first everything seemed normal: I showed the document to order a drink, and they served us without problems. But on the second lap the situation worsened. When I went in to order again and pay by card, a lady with glasses - presumably the owner - stopped me rather unpleasantly. She was obviously drunk, staggering and speaking in a confused and aggressive tone, claiming I was underage. I explained to her that I had already shown the document and that I was an adult, but she continued to speak to me in an arrogant and unsympathetic way. I thought it was over there, but shortly after the lady came out (we were sitting outside) and approached our table. He started insulting my friends for no reason, accusing them of making too much noise - which was absolutely not true. Even if that were the case, he could have asked politely, instead of immediately starting with insults. Unfortunately, it became clear that the real problem was the presence of my foreign friends. He insulted them with racist phrases, saying that they should "go back to the land of the monkeys" and that they should "learn to live in the world". All this while we were decidedly more respectful of her, who continued to behave inappropriately. Not happy, the lady even pretended to call the police to remove us, telling a distorted version of the facts. At that point, disappointed and annoyed, we decided to leave. In summary, I can only advise against Babar: a visibly drunk owner and a hostile atmosphere that make it impossible to enjoy the evening. Ma'am, worry less about insulting customers and more about maintaining a professional environment, because by doing so you will only lose customers.
