Baked goods are great but they are not 'sellers'. SERVICE like in GDR times... specially bitten into the lemon so that the dark, unfriendly look remains. Message is: What do you want to buy from us? There are salespeople who, even without training, are able to bring the goods to the customer without the customer leaving with the feeling that they have bothered the saleswoman.
