I came to Bağ Pera as a visitor from the States with essentially no knowledge of Turkish wine, and I left wanting to ship a case home. The team did the thing good wine people do and rarely get credit for: they asked what we liked, listened to the answer, and recommended accordingly. No steering toward the priciest bottle, no lecture. Just genuinely good suggestions built on what we told them. Mert set the tone from the moment we sat down, and Murat, Rıdvan, Yusuf and Gökhan each added something to the evening. They talk about the producers like people they know personally. The food kept pace with the wine, which is not always the case. Very few restaurants make a first-time guest feel like a regular by the end of the night. Had an amazing experience at this place. They serve only Turkish wines which was exactly what we were looking for. Could try numerous wines before we even ordered.
