I stayed here without a reservation on a Saturday during the Avignon Festival. Everything else in town was booked or extremely expensive. One downside of the hostel is that they don't accept same day reservation by phone, so there was no way I'd get a bed until I arrived despite my calling 3 times. I paid 33.60 for one night which I feel was expensive but was reasonable compared to other Avignon accommodation. There is no air conditioning or fans in the dorms, and mosquitoes fly in which is unfortunate. It is a basic hostel without hand soap in the restrooms. But the staff is friendly, and breakfast is included. Personally I would like the option for no breakfast at a cheaper price. Service: 5

Bonjour Sharon, thank you to have taken time to give this comment. We are happy to see that you were globally satisfied, and you found our staff, friendly. 26 € bed + 6.50 € full continental breakfast +1.10 € city tax = 33.60€ TTC during festival minimum prestation is in B/B. we try to propose prices for low budgets. When we are almost full, we don't take reservations by telephone, - the main reason : "no show" without any info, loss of beds. - Also, a lot of clients come on spot and it would be unfair to refuse them to give priority to phone reservations. - Also as the period is so crowdy, we have no more time to handle administration of reservations. Our availabilities are however posted on HW platform. Before the festival starts, we accept reservations by mail. In private rooms with shower, towels, soap is provided. Toilet necessary and towel to be brought by clients for dormitories I recognize that dormitories are warm, and we are studying for a secure solution (not fixed fans are forbidden by Security Commission) for the coming year, which would not affect too much our tariffs. However, I do understand you are expecting a fresher room, and I am sorry that you felt upset about this. Hope to have pleasure of welcoming you in the future, despite the points you mention.

We stayed for one Night and cancelled another planned night a week after that. The owner doesn't take any criticism, as you can see at all the other ratings. If you say "none of the toiletts worked, the shower floodes the room" etc. she will say, that you should have aked for help (at 9 p.m.). But we didn't want luxurious room service, those are the 3 basic things a Motel should provide without asking a staff memeber: sleeping, taking a shower, using the toilett. Above from that, it really is above any human hygienic standard. Everything is dusty and/or dirty. We were a group of scouts, so we really didn't expect a 5 star hotel stying there. But the Auberge Bagatelle is really that disgusting, we were thinking of sleeping in the car or just outside in sleeping bags. Another thing was, that the heater was on full power mode in April, so the room had like 28° inside. Therefore we had to open the window the whole night. Which means you can hear all the mashines on the roof extra loud while trying to sleep. On top of that, the owner will write you rage Answers on your rating, that she was sooo nice to give us the money back for the night one week from that, which we cancelled (yes, the night we did NOT want to sleep there anymore. We didn't want money back for the one sleepless disaster night we stayed there). DO NOT BOOK A ROOM HERE! Edit: of course we did turn the heating off. But it was too hot to cool down in just one night.

Bonjour, bien sûr que nous acceptons la critique, puisque nous avons Bien sûr que nous acceptons la critique, puisque nous avons remboursé vos réservations pour la semaine suivante. notre mail n'était en aucun cas "rageux" comme vous l'écrivez, je n'ai pas écrit que nous étions si gentils de vous avoir remboursé, juste essayé de comprendre votre "notation" puisque il me semble que nous avions été à votre écoute. Pour le chauffage, en avril, il y a alternance de jours chauds et froids (pluie, mistral) et c'est plutôt un point positif que de le proposer encore. et si il n'y était pas et que vous aurez souffert du froid, vous nous l'auriez aussi reproché. vous avez un bouton sur le radiateur qui vous permet d'éteindre le chauffage de votre chambre ! pas besoin d'ouvrir les fenêtres. le wc / sanybroyeur de votre chambre fonctionnait, c'est juste que vous n'avez pas trouvé le bouton de la chasse (sur le côté droit, vers le bas). Bon... nous pouvons cependant mettre une petite pancarte, pour que les clients n'aient pas à chercher, il est vrai. Vous êtes arrivé en début d'après-midi pas à 21 heures. Au plus vite, nous sommes informés des soucis au plus vite, nous pouvons intervenir. les chambres "dégueulasses" et "désastre", pour reprendre vos termes, même si le personnel de chambre peut être de temps en temps distrait, ce n'est sincèrement pas la vérité, et très exagéré. Alors qui écrit de manière "rageuse" ?

It was normal, nothing bad and nothing exceptional. People who work there were very nice I liked the area as hostel is located in a nature with a lot of trees and a river near by. It was a good air to breathe Room was clean and common space too They had a friendly cat ( I would put another star for it)
