When using a third party operator the food quality can only be maintained within a certain window and sometimes we have to wait a long period of time for delivery drivers to come and collect, there’s simply no telling if they collect from other restaurants along the way. The Deliveroo algorithm assigns us a driver in a one way fashion and it is totally out of our hands. We would love to offer a delivery service of our own in the future, hopefully once the staffing shortage eases. In regards to our portion sizes they haven’t changed since we started trading: our dry aged British beef is 5oz and our chip portion remains at 250grams, however many ingredients have increased 30-50% over the last year due to the current economic crisis and from the tail end of Covid-19. This is totally out of our control and we have consciously chosen not to go for lower quality/priced ingredients whilst trying to offer value for money. In terms of our prices on the Deliveroo platform we are charged 33% per order for Deliveroo’s service as-well as you the consumer paying a delivery fee. We have kept our prices as affordable and as competitive as can be on there whilst also attempting to be a profitable business. In actuality our prices should be higher than they are but we fear pricing ourselves out the market. We like everyone else cannot wait to see the end of inflation, this small business is our passion and to see it through the other side would mean the world to us. There is some great news in light of this, you’ll be please to know that we are launching our brand new click and collect site: avoiding the damagingly high third party operator fees whilst also offering our products at inflation beating prices.
