Baghdad Market, a Middle Eastern establishment located in Sterling Heights, offers an authentic taste of the Mediterranean. The ambiance is casual, with a carry-out only service inside the market. The interior design is simple yet functional, with shelves stocked with a variety of products and fresh bread baked daily. Prices are reasonable, making it an excellent spot for those on a budget.
The menu features a variety of dishes, including the famous beef kabob and the mouth-watering beef shawarma. The rice and stew can be a bit bland, but the wraps are a must-try. For those looking for vegetarian options, the falafel sandwiches and hummus are highly recommended.
In addition to the food, Baghdad Market also offers fresh produce, meat counter, and a hot food-to-go section. The staff members are friendly and helpful, making the dining experience enjoyable.
While there is no outdoor seating or live music, the establishment's focus on quality food at affordable prices makes it a popular spot among locals. For those looking for a unique culinary experience, Baghdad Market is a must-visit eatery.
As for drinks, Baghdad Market offers a selection of soft drinks, including Coca-Cola and Pepsi. They also have a variety of specialty teas and coffees. For those looking for something stronger, they offer a selection of imported beers and wines.
It doesn't get any more authentic than this. This place even looks like it's pulled straight out of Baghdad. But I see that as a good thing. Apart from being one of the few places where you can get authentic Iraqi Quzi, the food you can get from the carry-out-only restaurant is amazing. If you're looking for combo platters, get them here. Every other "Middle Eastern" restaurant is ripping you off, Baghdad Market gives you the best bang for your buck by far.
We left highway 95 to escape traffic jams and were delighted with the people, the service, and the delicious food at Baghdad Market. Next time we travel through Virginia it's on our "must visit" list!
