Located just outside the entrance area of Jindaiji Temple, Baigetsu is a small shop offering traditional snacks and souvenirs that fit perfectly with the historic atmosphere of the area. As it is still quite cold, we decided to warm up with a cup of shiruko. The sweet red bean soup was comforting and gently warming—exactly what you want before walking through the temple and its surroundings in Winter. The area is well known for its soba culture, so we also picked up a few soba manju. Whether you’re looking for a quick warm-up, a light snack, or an easy souvenir to take home, it’s a great place to pause before or after visiting the temple.
