Notwithstanding a few negative reviews, I have never had a bad experience at this place. Never been treated badly; in fact, the girls at the counter have always gone out of their way to be friendly and efficient. Coffee not the best, I admit, but it isn't much worse than, say, the August location on Chavchavadze. In any case: this is pistachio-lovers' heaven. Pistachio eclair, doughnut, milkshake, whatever you want. And they are all very, very good. And yes, the croissants are as good as it gets outside of Europe. Highly recommended. I recently visited Balance Express and went in expecting just a semi-decent dessert and meal — but wow , was I wrong! I’ve never been a fan of croissants , always finding them a bit “meh.” But here, I tried their classic croissant, vanilla croissant, and chocolate roll croissant, and I absolutely loved all three. The vanilla croissant was light and fluffy, with the perfect crème-to-pastry ratio. The filling was smooth and flavorful, without feeling heavy, so I could truly enjoy every bite. The chocolate roll croissant was another standout. Even if you’re not a huge chocolate lover, this one will win you over. The crunchy topping of chocolate and pistachio was spot-on, and the chocolate filling had a rich, almost dark-chocolate taste that paired beautifully with the buttery pastry. I also loved its unique round shape and the extra crunch in each bite. As someone who’s never liked croissants before, I can honestly say these were exceptional. Moving on to the Caesar salad — I’ve had more Caesar salads than I can count from different restaurants, but this one was perfect. It was light, with no oversized lettuce leaves getting in the way, and had a balanced mix of all the ingredients: just the right amount of lettuce, chicken, egg, tomatoes, croutons, and Parmigiano. Everything was fresh and perfectly portioned, making every bite satisfying. Finally, I tried their cold matcha with ice cream. I’m a big matcha fan, but in Georgia I’ve often found matcha drinks to be either too bitter or lacking in flavor. This one, though, was perfectly balanced — slightly sweet, creamy, and full of matcha flavor. I might just come back for this drink alone! Overall, Balance Express far exceeded my expectations. From the pastries to the salad to the drinks, everything was thoughtfully made and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend visiting — you definitely won’t be disappointed!
