This is an amazing restaurant. The food is phenomenal and the family that runs it are wonderful. We brought my 96 year old grandma who spoke Hungarian and the waitress immediately spoke to her and made her birthday so memorable. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

It's with actual regret to give a low score. We have had many really great dining experiences here. But tonight left us flabbergasted that I had to be interrogated because I sent a dish back. Mind you, I never asked for it to be comped or discounted. But when presented with my bill, I was asked to go see the owner who then questioned my taste and was dismissive and insulting. Again, never asked for a discount. We've always enjoyed their mainstays at both the Shaker and current location. And while out for an anniversary dinner, I had to be talked down to, all while asking me to pay cash because their CC machine was down. Unfortunately the owner shouldn't be customer facing anymore. Very unfortunate. Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 5

Well, well…there you are.Sorry for the calamity just on that day.I spent an hour and ten minutes on the phone with an unknown country where an unknown language was used against us about our Chase bank issued card processing terminal. Before that I already attempted to fix a problem that can be done in approx. ten minutes. Your dissatisfaction about our lovely and much liked menu item just found me the wrong moment. Did not have a chance discussing its history and/or culinary values under pressure.Trying an unknown dish has its surprises to any contestant.In this case the success ratio is high, so we shall leave it on the menu.If you had known us over the years and respected our long standing devotion about slow cooked food, perhaps public chatting wouldn’t even be the path to proceed, yes?Wishing U well. Maybe you realize it was just a bad day for both of us.

Wonderful Hungarian restaurant. Vivian was a gracious host. She was very helpful and friendly. The atmosphere was very warm and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend Balaton Restaurant! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
