Balis Taverna was exactly the sort of place we were hoping to find. It’s family-run and serves proper Greek food rather than the more touristy options you sometimes come across. The giant beans and the cheese pies were a real highlight. They brought back memories of visits to Greece over 20 years ago, and they’re dishes you seem to struggle to find on menus these days. A nice bit of nostalgia for us. The smell from the charcoal grill was amazing as soon as we arrived. We’d definitely recommend the moussaka and the sofrito, both were excellent. The staff were really friendly and attentive. The dark-haired lady who served us was particularly funny and made us feel very welcome. We enjoyed it so much that we ended up going back twice. If you’re up there, it’s worth having a look around the museum and taking a wander around Chlomos, which is a lovely village. Just bear in mind that the taverna closes in the afternoon. Also, Alpha on draught, which was a bonus! If you’re walking up from Boukari, be prepared for a fairly steep climb. It’s much easier by car, although the road is a bit rough in places. Well worth a visit if you’re looking for authentic Greek food and a friendly atmosphere. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

An unforgettable dining experience with one of the most breathtaking views on Corfu. The location alone is worth a visit, but the food and hospitality make it truly exceptional. We ordered the sea bass, shrimp, and a chocolate soufflé for dessert, and every dish was absolutely delicious. The ingredients were fresh, perfectly prepared, and beautifully presented. What made the evening even more special was the outstanding service and the kindness of the owner. He even lent us binoculars so we could watch dolphins in the distance and admire the coastline of mainland Greece. It was such a thoughtful gesture that perfectly reflects the warm and genuine hospitality of this place. Amazing food, stunning views, wonderful people, and an atmosphere that makes you want to stay all evening. Highly recommended and definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Corfu. An absolutely wonderful place! The food is incredibly fresh, homemade, and full of authentic flavor you can truly feel the care and passion in every dish. Everything we tried was delicious, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented. It’s rare to find food that tastes this genuine and satisfying. The service was exceptional from the moment we arrived. Everyone was warm, welcoming, and attentive, making us feel comfortable right away. What made the experience even more special was the owner, who personally takes care of the guests with so much kindness and hospitality. You can really see how much love and dedication goes into this place. The prices are very fair for the quality of food and service you receive — definitely great value for money. And the view simply breathtaking! A true million-dollar view that makes the whole dining experience unforgettable. Sitting there, enjoying amazing food while looking out over such stunning scenery, is something really special. If you ever visit Corfu, this is a place you should not miss. Highly recommended and absolutely worth visiting at least once — though after your first visit, you’ll probably want to come back again!
