3.5/5 We ordered a bowl of pork offal congee and some crispy fried shrimp, and both were quite tasty. The pork offal in the congee was plentiful, along with youtiao, good for the congee. Offals were handled cleanly, without any unpleasant smell. The overall flavor of the congee was great, and the addition of bean sprouts gave it a nice crunch. However, the bean sprouts didn’t seem very clean. As for the shrimp, they were crispy and decent, but some of the fried coating was a bit too hard. The accompanying dipping sauce was tangy and appetizing. The perilla leaves were delicious, but the vegetables served on the side felt like they weren’t very clean or thoroughly washed. The restaurant’s environment was relatively bright and spacious, but the flies buzzing around were annoying. It would be great if the owner could install an electric insect zapper or something similar. The service was excellent, and the prices were very reasonable. Crispy prawn banh khot (a savoury rice/ corn starch with coconut coloured with turmeric) is a draw card here, you won't find it on most menus in Sydney's Vietnamese restaurants and you probably won't find one so crispy yet not so oily - wrap it in lettuce, top with herbs and dip into fish sauce - a perfect bite. They also have Chao long, if you like congee and offal, this is a great example of how vietnamese people eat it, and banh cuon - steamed rice paper rolls with a good texture. If it have a few more people, try the banh cong as well - its like a mung bean deep fried thing which contrasts to the more delicate banh khot, which some people like more due to the more substantial bite it offers. I love that they keep the menu limited, specialising breeds excellence and honestly this place went from being a meh from me years back to being a favourite. Service is pretty basic, they are of few words but they are more timid than anything else. I hope one day they find a bigger space and kitchen to scale up a little, instead of being hidden away at the back of this nondescript arcade.

One of the best banh cuon places in Sydney. I only come to this place as they are the best. Their banh cuon is fresh and delicious with many varieties and options. I will be back again!
