Bar 145 is now Sammy's in 5th...I think. The sign out front says so and all of the chairs inside say so, but the menu is still Bar 145. On a Monday at 6:30, the place is dead. We seat ourselves as the sign indicates. Our waitress is new. She tells us so, and is polite and is mostly attentive and mostly gets our orders right. The burgers are good. They are cooked to temperature and the toppings are fresh and the sauces tasty. The truffle fries are greasy in a good/guilty way and are smothered in Parmesan cheese. There's trivia at 7 on Monday's. We play the six other people inside and have fun. Overall, the place doesn't have much ambiance or a clear sense of identity. Which makes it feel pretty blah. The service is ok. The food is good but not great. I probably wouldn't go back unless I wanted to drink a beer and play some low-key trivia

We thought we'd give this place another shot since it's been a few years since we've been here and they're apparently under new ownership. I will say service has much improved, our waitress was great at checking in and keeping us updated. The menu is bigger but they still have the build your own burger option, which I like. I decided to go with the chicken tenders and truffle fries this time. These were probably the most flavorless chicken tenders I've ever had. They also sat on the counter for quite awhile while the chef was preparing my boyfriend's Salmon BLT and I could see the waitresses touching the fries trying to see if they were still warm or not... with no gloves on. We were also asked to move, even though the entry sign said "Seat Yourselves" because there was a private party. We were there for quite awhile and no party showed... they did have a DJ playing music, but it wasn't really restaurant ambience music, it would have been better suited for a dance party than a 4pm dinner. Overall we probably won't be rushing back anytime soon. It's a shame as the restaurant has a great location with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and a large parking lot. Maybe the next owners will turn it around.

I have been watching this restaurant go downhill for sometime but now it has hit bottom. After being seated at a table with no silverware or condiments I ordered a simple chicken tenders. It came back way overdone. I sent it back and after 20 minutes the manager came back and said that the cooks were worried that the chicken wouldn't be done enough if they went less then what they had given me earlier. So I had two options 1) so dry I couldn't swallow it or 2)raw which would make me sick. I said never mind- I don't won't either. By that time my party was finished with their dinners. You'd think that the cooks would get called out on an underdone or overdone burger but CHICKEN FINGERS!!!? The manager, who made it a point to tell me she was from South Carolina (as if that would impress me), is obviously being managed by the line cooks. We witnessed the exchange and the cooks are telling the manager what they can't do which is cook the simplest food on the planet.  Too many options in Cbus- choose another.
