Located at an eye-catching address on Bourke Street, Bar Four Twenty is a pub and bar that’s made a subtle mark in Melbourne’s bustling dining scene. With a focus on delivering a quality experience in an inviting atmosphere, this establishment strives to impress even the most discerning of palates. Patrons have previously commended the perfectly cooked steaks and highlighted the high standards of service. Although deemed expensive, these mouthwatering meals seem to leave diners satisfied.

Yet, prospective visitors should exercise caution, as there are aspects they might want more details on. Most notably, information from the current ownership about operating hours is not readily available, which may affect planning a visit. Also of interest, recent reviews are conspicuously absent, with the last known customer experiences dated back a decade. While some lingering insights praise affordable drinks during happy hour, lack of up-to-date feedback leaves much to be verified today.

Simply loved it !!. To be honest and make it into simple words, i loved the food and the service.Ignoring all the bad reviews, i took it as a challenge to go and check it out and wasn't disappointed.I'm very fussy about food and my steak was perfectly cooked.Every restaurant has its ups and downs to be fair.Stayed for the happy hour too as the drinks were unbelievably cheap,so it was well worth it.
Will be back.

Don't. Go. There.. Starting at the end - because frankly leaving was the most satisfying part of the visit - it's fair to say we have had a worse meal but really, probably only once. First off, the advertised deal got a "oh I probably can't do that on this night" response when booking. Should have been a give way but hey, there's other stuff on the menu so we'll give it ago. Second red flag should have been the split Asian & Anglo menu; please choose a cuisine you want to cook and do it well. Or not at all. I suggest the latter in this case. The entre spring rolls were great - fresh & light. The gyoza were not. Leaden and tasteless. The Nasi Goreng had no taste. I repeat NO taste. The curry was flavoursome but there were massive chunks of chicken indicative of no care being taken. The beer & cider were good. We had to ask for plates for sharing and serving spoon. The waitress displayed a startling ignorance of wine when asked a question by the next table. Amateur hour.

Disappointing. Deal not as described ... much missing from the offer and were argumentative about it.
