Waiter rude, arrogant to us from the start. 4 of us for our friend’s 50th. If we asked a question, he would walk off. Asked him if he could take a quick photo. Said 2 mins & walked off. Didn’t come back for a long time. Didn’t explain it’s a set menu, no al a carte. Annoyed we hadn’t chosen. He sped through a lot of specials. When came back a long time later & asked if he could say them again. Looked at watch & belittled us. When asked if he could tell us about the baked chicken, he rudely said it’s baked in oven. Taken out and put on a plate. No mention of any spices, sauces etc. our friend asked about risotto. Told it’s plain you wouldn’t like it. When she said she liked plain risotto he rolled his eyes. If asked for water he walked off without answering. Long wait on wine and service. Very rude towards us from the start. When he came to take our desert menu, he straight up said, before you ask questions, I know I will have to explain the last 2 for you. In an arrogant condescending manner. Pasta with prawns for main was tiny. Chopped up small pieces of prawn swimming in an oily pasta. $99 set menu or $150 only. No mention of this when booking or on arrival. Had to ask for 2nd serving of bread as we were all hungry. No butter served with 2nd lot. Friend asked for more butter, was ignored. Told of special pork Ragu. When ordered told, there is none left. 4 deserts. Ordered affrogato. Told no frangelico. Tiramisu, tiny piece. Fir the price, terrible service, rude arrogant waiter, small serves and over priced for what you get. Cheapest house brand wine starts at $75. Placed in front of stairs to the toilet so people had to push past my husbands chair. Disappointing 50th. Working in medical profession had regularly gone to this restaurant since mid 90s. Disappointing to see how bad it has become. Go elsewhere.

(Zomato Rating 3.5) The iconic Café Di Stasio has been the go-to place for lovers of Italian food for many years now. The bronze door handles are a talking point as you enter the cosy dining area. On this occasion, we opted for their ‘Slow Food’ A Seasonal Lunch which consisted of two courses, glass of wine and coffee for $39.99. There were three choices of both entrée and mains and two desserts. Service was slick and the food enjoyable.
