Overpriced food. Both quantity and quality. Not worth it. The service lady was amazing though. The atmosphere is lively with 3 TV screens to watch soccer games and other social events. Price per person: ₡5,000–10,000 Food: 1 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

“Local Flavour, No Frills, and a Story to Tell” Bar El Ancla is the kind of seaside dive where pelicans literally circle overhead while you eat ,which feels oddly appropriate, given how authentically coastal the whole experience is. The food? Honest, local, and priced right. It won’t blow your mind, but it also won’t upset your stomach, a balance many seaside joints only dream of. Service had a casual, “we’ll get there when we get there” charm, and the atmosphere was delightfully unpretentious, like your uncle’s fishing shack if your uncle also served cold beer and good company. A great one-time stop to soak up the local vibe, swap smiles with real locals, and say you once had lunch with pelicans as your dining companions.
